A founding team with deep domain expertise across health economics, AI engineering, and decades of pharmaceutical commercialization.
Allan is a Health Economist who completed his PhD at the University of Toronto. His research examines the impacts of unexpected out-of-pocket costs and claim denials for preventive care on patient outcomes and health equity. He brings prior HEOR experience from Novartis and Analysis Group.
Decades of successful drug development and commercialization along the pharma/biotech value chain with CSO and CEO insights. He has managed some of the pharma sector's largest strategic alliances. He is currently a Full Professor and Program Director at the University of Toronto, where he guides the next generation of innovators.
Professor Hoagland is a Health Economist at the University of Toronto whose research focuses on claim denials and unexpected out-of-pocket costs for preventive care in the United States. He has published extensively on the economic drivers and consequences of these billing practices.
Anil Gaddam, M.Eng
Founding Engineer
Anil is a software and machine learning engineer with nearly a decade of experience building production systems at scale. He holds a Master of Engineering in Machine Learning from McGill University and has led large-scale software, data, and AI initiatives at a major national telecommunications provider, with expertise spanning full-stack engineering, data platforms, and cutting-edge AI agents and intelligent systems.

James Obaji, MD

Dr. Obaji is a practicing family physician in Ontario and continues to see patients alongside his work at Aletheia. He brings frontline experience of FHO billing, premium and incentive coding, and day-to-day clinic workflow to the platform, and leads pilot deployment and clinical validation with primary care practices across the province.
Jamie Firsten, LL.B.
Legal Counsel
Jamie is a corporate lawyer and partner in the Business Law Group at Goodmans LLP, where he advises technology companies on venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate matters. He also serves as legal counsel in residence at the DMZ, Toronto Metropolitan University's startup incubator. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Windsor and has been recognized by Chambers Canada, Best Lawyers in Canada, and Lexpert's Rising Stars.
